[a1v][Preface by a pupil of the author to the printers]
Tercium scolasticorum non mediocris inportunitas q(uia) adeo cupida tale opus consequendi, mo(do) precibus, mo(do) minis, mo(do) spe lucri opifices ipsos agressa tandem uoti compos extitit. Iuri igitur operam daturi si quicquid circa huius operis materiam alii doctores omnes senserint, dixerint, excogitauerint; percipere cupiant huic operi incumbant. Hoc expectanti. Hoc ilari uultu ac placita fronte amplectantur. Nec ullo unquam tempore auctori suisque laboribus gratias condignas reddere desinant ad laudem omnipotentis Dei.

[Woodcut on one copy (Wien ONB), representing six figures, likely professors and students; three of them are on the left-end side, and are attending an event: a young student is standing in front of a jurist, sitting on the right-end side, another jurist is between the two, looking gently the student. The whole thing might possibily be interpreted as the ceremony of graduation.]
